Jeremiah Symes of Northamptonshire was born towards the end of the 16th Century. He was granted his coat of arms by order of James 1st of England and subsequently received extensive grants of landed property in Ireland. He emigrated there during the reign of Charles the 2nd settling at Glasscorrig near Gorey in Wexford. His wife was Anne Payne whose brother was subsequently secretary to King James 2nd.
